Dentist in Manchester, MO
Preventative dentistry is the cornerstone of our practice here at Stanford Dental.
We understand that oral health and overall health are closely related, and we use your routine six-month visits to clean your teeth, monitor your oral health, and detect any concerns as early as possible. We will also advise you on how to make the most of your oral care routine at home.
Your Preventative Visit
At Stanford Dental, our hygienists and Dr. Carron are very thorough. Whether it’s your cleaning, examination, or oral cancer screening, we are using the latest technology and our skills and knowledge to give you a customized experience that is tailored to your needs.
We are also looking to detect concerns such as gum disease or tooth decay in their earliest stages as Dr. Carron follows a microdentistry philosophy. This means that by detecting decay in its earliest stages, he can help you using procedures that are less invasive and protect more of your natural tooth structure.
While oral cancer is a form of cancer that you don’t typically hear as much about, it’s numbers are actually on the rise. The reason for the dismal numbers is because oral cancer is often detected in its later, more advanced stages where the prognosis is not as good.
For this reason, Dr. Carron uses the VELscope system once a year, along with a thorough head and neck examination performed at every preventative visit, to detect oral cancer as early as possible. VELscope uses a bright blue light to pinpoint abnormalities in the soft tissue of the mouth. Early detection allows you the best chance of successfully treating oral cancer.
A Health-Centered Approach
Dr. Carron understands that by helping you achieve and maintain optimum oral health, he is also helping you achieve optimum overall health.
“Our goal at Stanford Dental is to provide personal, individualized care that improves the patient’s overall health. In doing so, we strive for professional growth by further educating ourselves in order to communicate to our patients the link between systemic health and oral health.
We will continually offer the latest technology to better serve our patients’ individual needs. We promise to treat each patient with compassion and understanding, no matter their situation. We will attempt to enter each day remembering the passion that brought us to this field: the patients we are honored to serve.”
This is the mission of Dr. Carron and the hygiene department as we strive to meet every patient’s unique needs. We consider ourselves your partners in optimum oral health, and we’ll make recommendations that are specific to your needs that will help you make the most of your home care routine when you’re not at our office.
We look forward to building a relationship with you, and we hope to take care of your family for many years.
